B.A. in Economic Geography and Urban & Rural Planning and Ph.D. in Human Geography from Nanjing University. She is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Nanjing University, Deputy Director of Le Centre franco-chinois Ville & Territoire (CFC V&T) and Master’s Supervisor at Nanjing University.

HUANG Chunxiao is mainly engaged in the research of urban and regional planning, urban social space and women's social space.

HUANG Chunxiao is in charge of the project "Research on Women's Social Space in Chinese Cities" and participates as a key member in the projects "Research on the Mechanism and Regulation of Economic and Population Agglomeration and Diffusion in Dense Coastal Towns" and "Research on the Transformation and Regeneration of Urban Industrial Parks Based on Smart Shrinkage" which were supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She has presided over and participated in more than 70 planning projects of various kinds, and has won the Third Prize of National Excellent Urban and Rural Planning & Design and the Second Prize of Jiangsu Province’s Excellent Survey & Design of Urban and Rural Construction System. She undertakes the ECURBS project of the Seventh Framework of the European Union (SP7) as one of China’s convenors and participates in the translation and research of UN-Habitat publications. She has published one academic monograph, one translation and more than 20 papers.
