Brief Introduction
Mingrui Shen got his Ph.D. of Geography in 2016 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, after that, he joined the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Nanjing University. His research interests focus on the urbanization of China from a perspective of urban-rural relationship. In particular, the works explore three themes:
•Domestic migration and county-level urbanization in China
•Urban-rural coordinated development
•Land-housing system and community governance
His publications can be found in both English and Chinese journals, such as Urban Studies, Land Use Policy, Journal of Rural Studies, China City Planning Review, etc. Mingrui has recently published a book, Rural Revitalization through State-led Programs: Planning, Governance and Challenge (Springer, 2020).
