清华大学学士，剑桥大学硕士、博士。现任南京大学开元体育app 教授、博士生导师，南京大学人文社会科学高级研究院城市研究中心主任，南京大学可沟通城市实验室主任。曾任英国剑桥大学沃夫森学院院士、德国德绍建筑研究所客座教授、澳大利亚昆士兰大学访问教授、美国宾州州立大学亨利·鲁斯基金访问教授。担任国际建筑师协会（UIA）公共空间改造工作组中国席代表、中国建筑学会城市设计分会理事、中国建筑学会建筑评论委员会理事、中国建筑学会建筑传媒学术委员会委员、江苏省土木建筑学会城市设计专业委员会委员、南京历史文化名城专家委员会委员。担任Architectural Design客座主编、JAABE编委、《建筑师》编委 。曾应邀在剑桥大学、牛津大学、哈佛大学、华美人文学会、英国皇家建筑师学会、美国汉庭顿图书馆等做特邀讲座。

Bachelor of Tsinghua University, Master and Ph.D. of Cambridge University. He is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Nanjing University, Director of the Center for Urban Studies, Institute for Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences, Nanjing University, and Director of the Communicable Cities Laboratory, Nanjing University. He was a Fellow of Wolfson College, University of Cambridge, UK, a Visiting Professor at the Dessau Institute of Architecture, Germany, a Visiting Professor at the University of Queensland, Australia, and a Visiting Professor at the Henry Ruth Foundation, Penn State University, USA. He is the representative of China Chair of UIA Public Space Renovation Working Group, the director of Urban Design Branch of China Architecture Society, the director of Architectural Review Committee of China Architecture Society, the member of Academic Committee of Architectural Media of China Architecture Society, the member of Urban Design Committee of Jiangsu Civil Engineering and Architecture Society, and the member of Expert Committee of Nanjing Historical and Cultural City. He is a guest editor-in-chief of Architectural Design, a member of the editorial board of JAABE, and a member of the editorial board of Architect. He has been invited to give invited lectures at Cambridge University, Oxford University, Harvard University, the Chinese American Humanities Association, the Royal Institute of British Architects, and the Huntington Library in the United States.
